Ingredients
2 cup flour
3 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 tbsp shortening
3/4 cup milk, skim
Directions
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cut in the shortening
until it is evenly mixed with the dry ingredients. Then ADD, Milk,
mixing well.
Then Knead for a a 1/2 minute and roll out to about 1-1/2 inch in
thickness. Cut with a Biscuit cutter. Place the biscuits 1-1/2 inches
apart on a greased baking sheet. The BRUSH with the Milk and BAKE at
450F oven degrees 10-12 minutes
One biscuit may be Exchanged for: 1 bread exchange or
1 fat exchange.

The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition system primarily suggested by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an accompanying website. The Zone diet isn’t particularly a weight loss diet, however many followers believe that they seem to lose a few pounds when following it. The supposed science behind the Zone Diet is that if you gain control of the levels of insulin and glucogen (two hormones produced naturally by your body), then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a consequence puts one's body in a state of balance which is much, much more wholesome than normal, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone". Sears alleges that a body that is in 'the zone' is working at its best and, because of this, doesn't convert energy to unsightly fat. The most important procedure of the zone system is to maintain the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to take increased amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. |
