The Glycaemic Index Diet
The glycaemic index diet system is based around the gi (or glycaemic index), a chart showing foods and a score representing the ease with which the glucose and energy of the food gets changed to sugar in the dieters body. The believe is that slow release foods (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic index score), suppress your appetite and help to eat less food without being miserabl;e.
It's also very beneficial for folk with diabetes, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in preventing increases in blood glucose amount.

Brassicas, Wonderfoods that also help your Dieting
(includes Arugula, Bok choy, Turnip greens and Rutabaga)
Known as cruciferous vegetables, these have large amounts of vitamins (eg.vitamin c), minerals (selenium and potassium, for example), fibre, chlorophyll, antioxidents, and indole-3-carbinol.

Over and above their many health and weight loss benefits, the nutrients in these are believed by doctors to reduce the risk of cancer.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
