Ingredients
2 3/4 tsp yeast
1 tsp malt
11 oz water (110 - 120 deg.f)
3 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup unbleached white flour
2 tbsp sugar, honey, molasses...
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp gluten
Directions
put yeast and malt into machine with several oz. of water. Use a
thermometer for the water. Too hot will kill the yeast. The yeast
will now proof (start to multiply) In a separate bowl, measure out
all dry ingredients and mix. After a few minutes, yeast should be
bubbling, add dry stuff and any liquids including the water. start
the machine and see how it looks. If too dry, add until it looks
right. Should be one big mass not several. Flour: I often substitute
1 cup of corn or rye + 1 heaping T of gluten for a cup of WW flour.
For sweet breads, add another few T of sugar (I commonly use honey,
molasses, or malt powder) and may some raisins. 3 T of carroway seeds
or sesame seeds in a non sweet bread is great. I have also added 2
mashed bananas, then cut the water.

Weight loss dietsThe South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet plan invented by Dr. arthur agatston which encourages the consumption of "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston invented his weight loss regime for people who have cardiac problems, as a result of his analysis of scientific studies on other dietary studies. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index nutrition and weight loss system is based around the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of types of food and an indicator of the speed with which the glucose and energy in the food gets transformed to sugar in the dieters blood stream. The claim is that slow release food types (ie with a low Glycaemic score), keep you feeling full longer and help to eat less food without feeling you are missing out. It is also especially beneficial for diabetics, as the low GI foods are helpful in managing surges in glucose amount. The Atkins’ Diet Now nearly 5 decades old, the popular atkins diet is still widely used today. Although highly controversial, it enables fat reduction but still allows you to eat many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, eg lamb and cheeses. With the atkins diet you are encouraged to eat meat and fat, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. It is referred to as a low carb/high protein, nutrition system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil. |
