The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index weight loss regime is based on the glycaemic index, a list of foods and a score representing the ease that the glucose and energy in the food type gets transformed to sugar in your blood stream. The believe is that slow acting foods (ie with a low Gi number), will keep you feeling full for longer and mean that you can eat less food without feeling hungry.
It's also very useful for diabetics, as the low GI food types are beneficial in reducing surges in blood sugar secretion.

The Atkins’ Diet
Developed by dr. robert atkins in the 1960s, the famous atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Although highly controversial, it allows fat reduction whilst encouraging you to eat foods that are normally considered bad for diets, eg meat and eggs.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet it is considered good to eat fat and protein, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate/high protein, diet system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil.

Super foods containing lycopene
(includes grapefruit, papaya & tomato puree)

The chemical lypcopene is a simple coloring compound and part of the carotenid family of phytochemicals. Lycopene is the agent responsible for the red colour of quite a few natural foods.

Intrestingly, unlike most other healthy agents, it is not damaged during the cooking process, but is genuinely increased in efficacy by cooking.

. Lycoprene's most important benefit is that it works as an antioxidant and is believed to be of use in the battle to reduce the probabilty of contracting cancer.

This useful phytochemical is the most potent fighter of singlet oxygen, which is linked with aging of the skin. It's also thought by nutritionalists to hamper the growth of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
