The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index weight loss program is based on the glycaemic index, a chart showing foods and an indicator of the ease that the carbs in the food type gets changed to sugar in your blood stream. The theory is that slow release foods (ie those food types with a low Glycaemic score), suppress your appetite and help you to take in fewer food without starving yourself.
It's also extremely effective for diabetics, as the low GI food types are helpful in reducing increases in glucose secretion.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet first devised by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet isn’t particularly a fat reduction diet, nevertheless many 'zone dieters' discover that they actually lose body weight by following it.
The supposed science behind the Zone Diet is that if you manage to control the secretion of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a consequence puts the body in a balanced state which is much, much more wholesome than normal, which is known as the zone.
Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your body is working at its best and, as a consequence, doesn't need to convert surplus energy to fat.
The most interesting method of the system is to control the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to ensure you get plenty of Omega 3 fish oils.

Flavonoid superfoods
(inlcudes olive oil, cabbage, lima bean and peppermint)

The nutrients known as flavonoids which are present in these food types are thought to have properties in preventing cancer.
Doctors investigating the properties of flavonoids think that they could have many other health giving properties, including anti-asthma and anti-inflammatory activities..
Most are also good for weight loss, so should be included in your diet system.
