Ingredients
1 1/2 cup ; cold water
3 oz pkg lemon sugar free jello
8 oz pkg neufchatel cheese, softened
1/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 tsp lemon peel, grated
2 cup non-dairy whipped topping, thawed
Directions
Bring water to boil. Gradually add to gelatin in small bowl; stir
until dissolved. Beat neufchatel cheese, lemonade concentrate and
peel in large mixing bowl at medium speed with electric mixer until
well blended. Stir in gleatin; chill until thickened but not set.
Gold in whipped topping; pour into lightly oiled 6 cup mold. Chill
until firm. Unmold. Garnish with peach slices, blueberries and fresh
mint leaves, if desired.
Variation: Substitute eight individual 1/2 cup molds for the 6 cup
mold.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet primarily suggested by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an accompanying website. The Zone diet isn’t exactly a weight reduction diet, however many 'zone dieters' discover that they reduce a few pounds by following the zone diet. The science behind the Zone Diet is that if one can limit the amount of two key hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a consequence puts one's body in a state of equilibrium which is far more wholesome than usual, which is known as the zone. Sears holds the theory that a body that is in 'the zone' is much more efficient and, because of this, doesn't convert energy to unsightly fat. The main method of the zone diet is to monitor and control the ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to dose yourself with high levels of Omega 3 fish oils. Foods containing lycopene (includes grapefruit, red peppers and tomatoes) The nutrient lypcopene is a naturally occurring coloring compound and member of the phytochemical group known as 'carotenids'. It is the agent responsible for the dark red colour of quite a few natural foods. Unlike many other nutrients, this useful phytochemical is not damaged if it is cooked, instead it is actually improved by going through the cooking process. . Its most important advantage is that it behaves as an antioxidant and appears to help lower the chances of contracting cancer. This useful phytochemical is the most efficacious carotenoid quencher of singlet oxygen, which is associated with skin aging. It is also thought by many experts to hamper the growth of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels. |
