Low calorie diet
Rather obviously, the low-cal diet states that if you want to diet successfully, it is essential to consume fewer calories than you use. What is a calorie? The calorie is the standard unit for energy measurement in dieting. A food calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise one cubic centimeter of water by one degree centigrade. If a meal contains more calories, then it will turn into more energy to use when your body digests it. Low-cal foods include celery, swede, grapefruit, ground turkey, and bamboo shoots. The Glycaemic Index Diet The glycaemic index weight loss regime is linked to the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of food types and an indicator of the ease with which the carbs in the food gets converted to glucose in the dieters blood stream. The theory is that slow release types of food (ie those foods with a low Gi score), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help you to take in fewer food without being miserabl;e. It is also extremely efficient for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI food types are beneficial in reducing surges in blood sugar secretion. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes eschalot, white onions and green onion) The onion and garlic family is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is too little definitive proof at hand, allyl sulphides are also believed to reduce the symptoms of blood circulation, sterilization and fatigue. Foods containing allyl sulfides are also good for weight loss, so make sure you add them to your diet system. |
