Diet Poached Pears In Cinnamon-Ginger Sauce Recipe brought to you by Diet Recipes To-Go
Diet informationThe Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition system primarily suggested by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an accompanying website. The Zone diet isn’t specifically a fat reduction diet, but many zone diet fans find that they really manage to lose a few pounds by following the zone diet. The theory behind the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to control the secretion of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a consequence puts the body in a state of balance that is much more healthful than it normally is, known as the 'zone'. Sears believes that if you get into this 'zone', your body is working at its best and, because of this, doesn't need to convert surplus energy to fat. The main process of the zone system is to control the ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to take large amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. The Atkins’ Diet Now nearly 5 decades old, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Popular with many famous celebrities, it claims to allow weight reduction whilst allowing you to eat many foods that are not normally available to dieters, eg lamb and some dairy produce. With this diet you are encouraged to eat meat and fat, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is often referred to as a low carbohydrate/high protein, nutrition and weight loss system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil. The Glycaemic Index Diet The glycaemic index diet is based around the glycaemic index, a list showing foods and a score illustrating the rapidity that the carbohydrates in the food type gets changed to glucose in the dieters system. The claim is that slow acting types of food (ie those foods with a low Glycaemic index score), will keep you feeling full for longer and help to reduce your intake of food without craving snacks all the time. It is also very good for diabetics, as the low GI food types are beneficial in preventing rises in blood sugar secretion. |
