3/4 c pumpkin pie filling
1/3 c milk -- skim
1 lg egg
1 TB butter
1 ts salt
2 1/3 c bread flour
2/3 c flour -- whole-grain wheat
3 TB brown sugar -- packed
2 TB vital wheat gluten
1/2 ts cinnamon
1/4 ts ginger
1/4 ts nutmeg
1/8 ts allspice
2 ts yeast
1/2 c walnuts* -- coarsely
: chopped
1/3 c dates* -- chopped
Add ingredients to the machine in the order listed with the exception
of walnuts and dates. Bake on fruit and nut cycle. When addition
beep sounds, add walnuts and dates. Makesa 1 1/2 pound loaf.

Diet typesThe South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet started by Florida-based cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that dieters should be eating "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Agatston developed his system for people who have cardiac problems, based on his analysis of scientific research completed on other diets. Good foods include, broiled ham, skinless poultry, seafood, cottage cheese, peanuts, nonfat milk and certain vegetables, such as green beans, cauliflower and turnips. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a diet primarily detailed by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an accompanying website. The Zone diet is not specifically a fat reduction diet, but many followers claim that they manage to lose a few pounds by following it. The theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you control the levels of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which puts the body in a balanced state that is much, much more healthy than usual, known as the 'zone'. Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is perfectly balanced and, because of this, doesn't build up layers of fat. The key technique of the diet is to maintain the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to dose yourself with high levels of Omega 3 fish oils. |
