Diet information

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet invented by Cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses that one should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Agatston developed his weight loss system for his cardiac patients, as a consequence of his detailed analysis of scientific data completed on other nutritional studies.
Examples of good foods include, broiled ham, turkey bacon, prawns, ricotta cheese, pecan halves, nonfat milk and certain vegetables, such as green beans, collard greens and mushrooms.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet primarily created by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an accompanying website. The Zone diet isn’t exactly a fat reduction diet, nevertheless many zone diet fans claim that they manage to lose body weight by following it.
The main theory of the Zone Diet is that if you limit the levels of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which puts your body in a state of balance which is much more wholesome than usual, known as the 'zone'.
Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is working at its most efficient and, as a result, does not need to build up stores of fat.
The main process of the zone system is to maintain the ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to ensure your diet has plenty of Omega 3 fish oils.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
