The Recipe Instructions
 

 

Ingredients

2 cup cauliflower florets
1 1/2 cup turkey stock
2 tsp wholewh. or all-purp. flour
1 tsp parsley flakes
2 tsp onion flakes
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 lb turkey breast, cooked


Directions

Cook cauliflower in boiling, salted water for 6 min or until almost
tender. Drain.

Combine stock, flour and seasonings in a small saucepan. Cook and stir
until mixture is slightly thickened.

Place turkey breast in a greased baking pan. Arrange cauliflower
around turkey breast. Pour sauce over turkey and cauliflower. Bake
in 350 F oven 20-25 min or until heated through.

4 servings, each 112 calories 1 med-fat meat, 1 vegetable exchange

Weight loss diets


The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system invented by Florida-based cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that one should consume "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Agatston developed his weight loss system as an aid to patients with heart conditions, based on his detailed study of scientific research on other dietary studies.
"good" foods include, lean cuts of beef, turkey bacon, shellfish, parmesan cheese, pistachio nuts, nonfat yoghurt and some vegatables, such as asparagus, collard greens and sprouts.


The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition and weight loss system primarily created by Barry Sears in a series of books. The Zone diet isn’t distinctly a fat reduction diet, however many followers claim that they really manage to lose body weight by following it.
The 'science' behind the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to gain control of the amount of insulin and glucogen (both hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a result puts your body in a state of equilibrium that is much more wholesome than it normally is, this is referred to as 'the zone'.
Sears holds the theory that a body that is in 'the zone' is much more efficient and, because of this, does not build up layers of fat.
The main method of the system is to maintain the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to ensure your diet has increased amounts of Omega 3 fish oils.


The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index nutrition and weight loss system is based on the gi (or glycaemic index), a chart showing types of food and an indicator of the speed with which the energy in the food type gets changed to glucose in the dieters blood stream. The believe is that slow acting food types (ie those foods with a low Glycaemic index score), keep you feeling full longer and help you to reduce your intake of food without being miserabl;e.
It's also extremeley useful for individuals with diabetes, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in minimizing surges in blood glucose amount.


The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the famous atkins diet is still widely used today. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it enables fat reduction but still allows you to eat many of the foods you love, like lamb and butter.
On the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. It is often referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, diet.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and, as a result, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil.
