Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes eschalot, leeks and spring onions) The onion, leek and garlic family is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is very little scientific evidence published, allyl sulfides are also thought by many experts to reduce symptoms with colds, arteriosclerosis and physical exhaustion. Foods containing allyl sulfides are low in calories, so make sure you add them to your diet system. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet created by Miami, florida-area cardiologist arthur agatston which stresses that dieters should be eating "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston invented his weight loss system for people who have heart disease, as a result of his detailed study of scientific research completed on other dietary studies. Approved foods include, lean beef, turkey breast, fish and shellfish, feta cheese, pistachios, lowfat yoghurt and some vegatables, like lentils, celery and sprouts. |
