The low calorie diet

As most people know, low calorie diet depends on the fact that if you intend to lose weight, it is essential to eat fewer calories than you actually use.

What is a calorie?
The calorie is the unit used for measuring the amount of energy in food. A calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree celsius. If something has higher calories, then it will will give you more energy to use when eaten.

Low calorie food types include bok choy, tomato, melon, beef, and skimmed milk.

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Popular with many famous celebrities, it supposedly allows fat reduction whilst still eating many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, like beef and some dairy produce.
With this diet it is considered good to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that must be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a high protein, low carb, weight loss program.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
With the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The theory of the famous atkins diet is that although our bodies use both fats and carbohydrates to transform into carbohydrates, it is the carbs that are burned primarily. If we take in less carbohydrates, we will burn up our fat and we will diet successfully. This is the bit that is controversial, not all experts concur and some feel it is sometimes dangerous.

Lycopene rich foods

The chemical lypcopene is a simple compound used to color foods and member of the carotenid family. Lycopene is responsible for the deep red hue of some types of food.

Unlike many other healthy agents, it is not damaged if it is cooked, but is really enhanced by the cooking process.

. Its most valuable medical value is that it behaves as an antioxidant and seems to be an asset in the fight to lower the risks of contracting cancer.

This useful phytochemical is the most effective quencher of singlet oxygen, which is linked with skin aging. It's also thought by many researchers to prevent the growth of atherosclerosis.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
