Ingredients
1 turkey
2 cup apple juice or cider
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 salt
1 pepper
1 paprika

Season the outside with salt, pepper and paprika, then into the pan
breast side DOWN. Combine 2 cups apple juice or cider with 1/2 cup
soy sauce and pour that in the pan. Into the oven, then start basting
it after 1 hour. Baste every 20-30 min. When a thermometer inserted
into the thickest part of the thigh reaches 165F, remove from oven
and tent with foil for at least 30 min. (If the liquid runs out,
make up more baste. You want to have plenty for the gravy.)
And I have the perfect turkey, that even looks like the perfect
turkey, first time, every time.
And beyond that, you should taste the gravy that this basting sauce
makes.

NOTE: I used apple juice to baste. This makes the most incredible
gravy!!! And cooking it breast side down makes for the juiciest
turkey breast you have ever tasted.

The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a weight loss system invented by Florida-based cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that one should consume "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston developed his dietary regime for people who have cardiac problems, as a result of his detailed analysis of scientific studies on other dietary studies. Good foods include, broiled ham, turkey bacon, prawns, cottage cheese, pistachios, eggs and some vegatables, like artichokes, collard greens and water chestnuts. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index nutrition and weight loss system is reliant on the gi (or glycaemic index), a list of food types and a score representing the ease with which the glucose in the food gets converted to glucose in the dieters blood stream. The theory is that slow acting foods (ie those foods with a low Gi number), will keep you feeling full for longer and mean that you can reduce your consumption of food without feeling you are missing out. It is also extremeley effective for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI food types are useful in minimizing rises in blood glucose secretion. |
