Ingredients
1 lb turkey tenders, cut into strips
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp freshly-ground black pepper
1/4 tsp ground red pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 cup chopped seeded tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese - (1 oz)
2 tbsp orange juice
12 oz dry linguine, cooked, kept warm
Directions
Combine turkey, garlic, cumin, black pepper and red pepper in medium bowl;
toss to coat.
Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add turkey mixture; cook
4 to 6 minutes or until turkey is no longer pink in center.
Add tomatoes; cook 2 minutes. Stir in cilantro, cheese and orange juice;
cook 1 minute. Toss turkey mixture and linguine in bowl. Serve
immediately.
This recipe yields 6 servings.

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systems over the last few years. Popular with many famous celebrities, it allows fat reduction whilst allowing many of the foods you love, for example bacon and butter. With the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. Because of this, it is known as a low carb/high protein, diet system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. With the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a weight loss regime primarily advocated by Barry Sears in a number of books. The Zone diet isn’t exactly a fat reduction diet, but some people discover that they actually seem to lose weight by following this system. The 'science' behind the Zone Diet is that if you gain control of the amount of insulin and glucogen (both hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a result puts the body in a balanced state that is an awful lot more healthful than usual, known as the 'zone'. Sears believes that if you get into this 'zone', your body is working at its best and, as a result, does not need to convert surplus energy to fat. The most interesting technique of the zone diet is to monitor and control the precise ratio of carbs to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased amounts of Omega 3 fish oils. Lycopene superfoods (includes watermelon, papaya & tomatoes) The phytochemical lycopene is a natural coloring agent and one of the phytochemical group known as 'carotenids'. It is behind the deep red hue of some types of food. Usefully, unlike numerous other healthy agents, lycopene does not become less effective if subjected to heat, but is genuinely enhanced by going through the cooking process. . Lycoprene's key advantage is that it serves as an antioxidant and is thought to be of use in the fight to reduce the risks of contracting cancer. This useful phytochemical is the most efficacious quencher of singlet oxygen, which is connected with aging of the skin. It's also thought to prevent the development of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels. |
