Ingredients
1 low-fat flour tortilla - (6" dia)
2 tsp reduced-fat mayonnaise
2 slice deli-style fat-free roasted turkey
2 tbsp chopped fresh tomato
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves
= (or 1/8 tspn dried basil)
Directions
Lay the tortilla flat on a small plate. Spread with the mayonnaise. Lay
the turkey slices on the tortilla. Sprinkle the tortilla with the tomato
and basil.
Roll the tortilla and turkey around the tomato-basil filling. Eat like a
rolled sandwich.
This recipe yields 1 serving.

Comments: A little turkey goes a long way in this quick wrap. And fresh
basil really does make a difference in the taste. If it's unavailable, you
could substitute dried basil.

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes garlic, onions and spring onions) The alliaceae range of vegetables is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is too little definitive proof obtainable, allyl sulfides are also thought to help with antiinflammatory effect, arteriosclerosis and fatigue. Foods containing allyl sulfides also have a low calorie count, so should be a part of every weight loss regime. Brassicas, Super foods that aid Dieting (includes Cauliflower, Green beans, Turnip greens and Chinese cabbage) Altthough not always popular with children, these vegetables are full of vitamins (eg.folate), minerals (selenium and potassium, for example), fibre, chlorophyll, antioxidents and isothiocyanates. Over and above their many beneficial effects, the minerals, vitamins and nutrients in these are believed by doctors to help reduce the cancer risk. |
