The Glycaemic Index Diet
The glycaemic index diet system is based on the gi index, a list of foods and a score representing the rapidity with which the glucose in the food gets transformed to sugar in the dieters bloodstream. The claim is that long-acting food types (ie those foods with a low Gi number), suppress your appetite and help to consume fewer food without craving snacks all the time. It is also extremeley effective for diabetics, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in minimizing surges in blood glucose amount. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet plan created by Dr. arthur agatston which emphasizes that one should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston invented the south beach diet for people who have cardiac problems, as a result of his detailed study of scientific research on other dietary studies. "good" foods include, broiled ham, turkey breast, fish, fat-free cheeses, almonds, eggs and certain vegetables, such as black beans, eggplant and mushrooms. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes eschalot, onions and green onion) The onion, leek and garlic family is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe may be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is too little definitive proof obtainable, allyl sulfides are also thought by many experts to reduce the symptoms of blood circulation, arteriosclerosis and fatigue. Foods containing allyl sulfides also have a low calorie count, so should be a part of every weight loss program. |
