Ingredients
1 1/4 lb ground turkey
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1 each egg
3/4 tsp garlic salt
1 tbsp cooking oil
2 each stalks celery, cut diagonal
1 each onion, cut in thin rings
1 green pepper, cut 3/4pieces
2 each tomatoes, med., cut in 1/8's
1 oriental sauce
1 cup chicken broth
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp vinegar
1 dash, white pepper
Directions
Mix first 4 ingredients. Form into 4-6 patties, each about
3/4-thick. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute
burgers 3 mediums each side, until browned. Mix Oriental Sauce and
pour over burgers; bring to a boil, stiring occasionaly. Reduce
heat; add celery, onion and pepper. Simmer, covered, 6 minutes. Salt
and pepper to taste. Add tomato; simmer 2 to 3 minutes, until meat is
no longer pink.

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the 1960s, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows weight reduction whilst allowing you to eat many of the foods you love, like meat and egg and cheese. Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet you are encouraged to eat meat and fat, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. It is often referred to as a low carbohydrate/high protein, diet system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour. On the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil. Foods containing carotenes (includes carrots, rose hip puree and winter squash) These orange and green healthy superfoods are rich in carotenes (alpha and beta) believed play a key part in helping stop cancer, specifically those cancers involving the stomach. Most are low in calories, so make sure you add them to your weight loss regime. |
