The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet first created by Barry Sears in a number of books and publications. The Zone diet isn’t distinctly a fat reduction diet, nevertheless many zone diet fans claim that they really manage to lose a few pounds by following the zone diet. The 'science' claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can gain control of the levels of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which puts your body in a state of equilibrium which is an awful lot more healthful than normal, which, not surprisingly, is known as 'the zone'. Sears believes that a body that is in 'the zone' is much more efficient and, because of this, does not need to build up stores of fat. The most valuable procedure of the zone system is to maintain the exact ratio of carbs to proteins, and to dose yourself with high levels of Omega 3 fish oils. Brassicas, Healthy superfoods that aid Your diet (examples: Broccoli, Broccoli, Collard greens and Chinese cabbage) Members of the brassica family are rich in vitamins (eg.folate and vit c), minerals (selenium and potassium, for example), fibre, chlorophyll and antioxidents. In addition to their many other health giving properties, the nutrients in these are believed by doctors to help reduce the cancer risk in those prone to it.. |
