Diet Velveeta Light Salsa Dip Recipe brought to you by Diet Recipes To-Go
Types of dietThe Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition system initially suggested by Barry Sears in a number of books. The Zone diet isn’t particularly a weight reduction diet, however many zone diet followers find that they actually lose a few pounds by following the zone diet. The science behind the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to gain control of the levels of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, in turn puts one's body in a state of balance which is far more healthy than it normally is, which, not surprisingly, is known as 'the zone'. Sears holds the theory that if you get into this 'zone', your body is perfectly balanced and, because of this, does not build up layers of fat. The main technique of the zone diet is to monitor and control the precise ratio of carbs to proteins, and to dose yourself with large amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a weight loss system created by Cardiologist arthur agatston which encourages the consumption of "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Doctor agatston invented his system for his cardiac patients, as a consequence of his detailed study of scientific studies on other dietary studies. Examples of good foods include, lean cuts of beef, skinless poultry, clams, parmesan cheese, almonds, lowfat or nonfat milk and some vegatables, such as green beans, broccoli and snow peas. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index nutrition and weightloss system is based on the glycaemic index, a list showing food types and a score representing the rapidity that the carbs in the food gets converted to glucose in your blood stream. The theory is that slow release food types (ie those foods with a low Glycaemic index score), suppress your appetite for longer and help to reduce your intake of food without feeling hungry. It is also extremely beneficial for people with diabetes, as the low GI food types are beneficial in managing increases in blood glucose levels. The Atkins’ Diet First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it supposedly allows weight loss whilst allowing you to eat many foods that are not normally available to dieters, for example beef and hard cheese. Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. Because of this, it is known as a high protein, low carb, nutrition and weight loss system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The controversial theory behind the atkins diet is that if we cut down on carbs, our bodies will utilise our stored fat and we will become thinner |
