Weight loss systems

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet created by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which stresses that one should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Agatston invented this diet as an aid to patients with heart conditions, based on his detailed study of scientific research completed on other diets.
Examples of good foods include, lean beef, turkey bacon, clams, low or fat free cheeses, pistachio nuts, lowfat yoghurt and some vegatables, like lentils, celery and mushrooms.

The Atkins’ Diet
Originating way back in the 1960s, the atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last decade. Although not accepted by all scientists, it supposedly allows fat reduction but still allows you to eat many foods that are not normally available to dieters, like meat and some dairy produce.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is often referred to as a low carbohydrate/high protein, nutrition and weight loss system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition and weightloss system first suggested by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet isn’t distinctly a fat reduction diet, although many zone diet fans discover that they actually manage to lose weight by following it.
The science claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can gain control of the amount of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a consequence puts one's body in a balanced state that is much, much more wholesome than it normally is, which is known as the zone.
Sears alleges that if you get into this 'zone', your body is perfectly balanced and, as a consequence, doesn't build up fat.
The key technique of the zone diet is to control the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to make sure your diet has large amounts of Omega 3 fish oils.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
